VizioCount Barrier Installation
This application counts the number of vehicles/persons that cross a virtual line in a specific direction. The main target is to have an image where we can follow the target before, during, and after crossing the line. This application is often used to monitor the entry/exit of a parking lot or to conduct mobility studies by counting the number of objects that cross a line in the street or the road.
Suitable Installation
The ideal location is in an area close to the camera where vehicles are moving slowly or just starting to move. The entry point of a parking lot is often a good location.

Common Misplacements
Focusing on the Line
The camera should always be positioned to minimize the visibility of unnecessary roads. Focus only on the area near the counting line.

Sky/Buildings Issue
We should avoid having too many unnecessary elements such as the sky and buildings in the view to focus only on the area where the counting is taking place. This is an example of how we can orient the cameras to avoid the sky and being face to face with the sun and unnecessary buildings.

Far from the Target
We should avoid having the line of interest far away from the camera. It should be placed as close as possible to avoid large vehicles that could hide the region of interest.

Occlusion
If the camera height and orientation are not optimal, occlusions between vehicles that are crossing the line at the same moment could occur, introducing errors in the counting.

Ensure no lanes or objects (e.g., trams) can fully block the line of interest.
